Summer is finally here!!! Okinawa’s summer is scorching hot – but who can blame the sun when she beautifies the island with her splendid rays? Make your summer more fabulous by doing some of the things on this list!

1. Festivals and everything fabulous that comes with it! Eisa! Fireworks! Music!

What is summer without festivals? Throughout Japan, from Hokkaido to Okinawa, there are so many different summer festivals that attract huge crowds! And what is summer in Okinawa without Eisa and fireworks? Here are some amazing festivals that you should not miss!

Meet the legendary Oba rappers who rock Sakaemachi market on the last Sunday of the summer months (June to October).

5. Star-gazing at the beach

Every August, the Perseid meteor shower adds sparkle to Okinawa’s summer magic. 2015 is a great year to enjoy the most beloved meteor shower in the Northern Hemisphere. The peak is around 10-13 August this year. Pack your picnic basket and flashlights and head to a remote beach to enjoy this spectacle! Check out this link for more information!
